🍹 Bodega And The Rest is one of the few “speakeasy” bars in Salt Lake City. If you want a unique experience, great food, topped with a delicious cocktail, this is your place. The bar tenders will shake their way to a unique and delicious cocktail for you. But first you must ask the bar tender in the front, for entry into “The Rest.” Then you’ll be escorted to an underground world full of eclectic and unusual decor. This is where the real drinks and dinner are made. The old fashioned is a fan favorite here. And for a unique dish, try the beer can chicken. Also the charcuterie board is very well done, if you’re not feeling like a full meal and just want to snack.
2. The Copper Onion – Best for Classic Comfort Food
🍗 If you’re in the mood for classic comfort food with a gourmet twist, The Copper Onion is the place to go. Known as Salt Lake’s American brasserie, the menu features a mix of American, French, and Italian favorites, made with fresh locally sourced ingredients. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the service is always top-notch. I highly recommend the Cast Iron Mary’s Chicken, as it’s a Copper Onion Classic. It’s the perfect comfort food to give you that home-cooked feeling. Or as a classic, you can try The Copper Onion Burger. It is delicious. Although most everything I’ve tried is fantastic! I don’t think you can go wrong ordering here.
3. Takashi – Best for Sushi
🍣 Takashi is definitely one of the best restaurants in Salt Lake City, and personally my favorite sushi restaurant in SLC. The sushi is always fresh and expertly prepared, and the atmosphere is sleek and modern. The menu features a wide variety of traditional and contemporary sushi and sashimi, as well as a selection of cooked dishes. I highly recommend the New Zealand Salmon Sashimi. Any of the Gunkan Maki. Or talk to the waiter, and ask for Omakase (chef’s choice). It’s a great way to get a variety of the best featured fish on the menu. They always pick a mouth-watering selection. Just be sure to get there early, because they don’t take reservations, and they typically fill up fast.
4. Red Iguana – Best for Mexican Food
🌮 For a taste of the exotic, head to Red Iguana for some of the best Mexican food in Salt Lake City. This family-owned restaurant has been serving up authentic Mexican cuisine for over 40 years. The menu is extensive, and features a wide variety of dishes, from classic favorites like tacos and enchiladas, to more adventurous fare like mole and tamales. My personal favorite is the spicy shrimp tacos, they are absolutely delicious! But it is probably worth getting a mole sampler here, because it is what they are known for.
5. SLC EATERY – Best for MODERN American Fare
🍔 SLC Eatery is a must-visit for anyone looking for a great atmosphere and a unique take on an American restaurant in Salt Lake City. The menu features a mix of classic and contemporary dishes, all made with the freshest ingredients. his farm-to-table eatery sources its ingredients from local farmers, ranchers, and artisans to create delicious, seasonal dishes. The menu changes frequently, but you can always expect to find a mix of classic comfort foods and more adventurous fare. I would recommend a dish, but with frequent updates, my rec’s may not be on the menu anymore. They are always updating and creating new delicious combinations. Definitely worth stopping by to see what dishes they’re cooking up.
